Academic Services and Support - Academic Technology

Our Mission

  To provide appropriate academic technology resources and services 
    for the BCC community - ranging from smart classroom technologies, 
    computer and distance learning applications, and media development. 
 
          

 Our Goals

  • Facilitate and encourage the use of academic technology in education with teaching, modeling and development of technologies, ranging from basic media to advanced digital audio-video communications.
  • Provide support and training for faculty members integrating technology into course offerings, and for students using technology for research, assignments and assessments.
  • Apply appropriate technology to meet the goals and objectives of the BCC community while creating the opportunity for growth and change as it pertains to pedagogical practice.
  • Provide BCC faculty with the support they need to provide students with greater access to higher education via distance learning.

The Academic Technology (AT) department at BCC is comprised of several resource areas, including the with media, classroom technology, and distance learning services, and the Main Academic Computer Lab.

The Ahlin Academic Technology Center -- our multimedia-technology hub - is comprised of a videoconferencing, multimedia development and presentation, and new technology research space; multimedia editing suite; and staff offices.

The Academic Technology department works in conjunction with the Academic Technology Advisory Committee to best provide BCC's Faculty, Staff and Students with technology needs for teaching and learning.
