BCC Players to Perform 'The Devil's Disciple'
Oct 19, 2009

The BCC Players will perform "The Devil's Disciple" by George Bernard Shaw on Friday and Saturday evening, Oct. 30 and 31, at 8; and on Sunday afternoon, Nov. 1, at 2 in the Robert Boland Theatre at Berkshire Community College.

A suspense-filled melodrama that takes place during the American Revolution, the play is full of Shaw's wry wit and social commentary, and pokes fun at the shams, repressions, sentimentalities, insincerities, and ideals of Shaw's time, as well as today.

The production features Justin Medina as the dashing hero, Gabrielle Smachetti as the struggling heroine, Dana Grieb as the pious and cruel mother, Jerry Greene as the reprobate son, and Brian Plouffe as General "Gentlemanly Johnny" Burgoyne. Other performers include Alexandra Fowler, Brandon Nutting, Joe Sicotte, David Turnbough, Kevin Escudero, Devin Shea, Nick Duval, Simon Weeks, Meredith McMillan, and Becky Greene.

Christopher Gregory serves as the set and lighting designer.

Tickets for the performances may be reserved by calling the BCC Box Office at 413-499-0886. Tickets are $10 general admission; and $5 for students, seniors and BCC staff.

A special, free performance for high school groups will be offered Thursday morning, Oct. 29, at 10. To bring a high school group to the free matinee, call 413-236-4769, or email
