Learn to Golf for Adults and Youth

Anyone interested in learning the basics of golf is invited to register for the following workshops available this spring through Berkshire Community College in collaboration with eduKaytion Golf at City Golf in Pittsfield:

"Golf 101 - Adult Learn to Golf" (WKS 1230) is designed for adults who want to be introduced to golf, or for those with some moderate skill level wanting to improve and learn more. The course teaches golf fundamentals in an easy to understand format in just six weeks with guaranteed results. Participants learn terminology, basic and proper swing mechanics, and effective practice methods.

The following sections are held indoors at City Golf in Pittsfield near City Hall: section E2 meets Thursday morning, Feb. 4 through March 11, from 10 to 11; section E3 meets Saturday afternoon, Feb. 6 through March 13, from 3 to 4; section E4 meets Thursday evening, Feb. 4 through March 11, from 5 to 6; section E5 meets Tuesday evening, March 9 through April 17, from 5 to 6, and may finish outside at the Skyline Country Club.

Section E6, which meets Thursday evening, March 18 through April 22, from 5 to 6; and section E7, which meets Wednesday evening, April 14 through May 19, from 5 to 6, are held at the Skyline County Club.

"Junior Player Development Golf Academy" (WKS 1128), recommended for ages 8 to 14, is designed for young people, with or without experience, wanting to learn golf fundamentals or to improve their existing skills. Students learn swing mechanics, short game skills, drills, course etiquette, strategies, rules, and on-course playing.

The following sections are held indoors at City Golf in Pittsfield near City Hall: section E2 meets Thursday evening, Feb. 4 through March 11, from 4 to 5; section E3 meets Tuesday evening, March 9 through April 17, from 4 to 5; section E4 meets Thursday evening, March 18 through April 22, from 4 to 5. Sections E3 and E4 may finish outside at the Skyline Country Club.

Section E5, which meets Wednesday evening, April 14 through May 19, from 4 to 5; and section E6, meets Saturday evening Feb. 6 through March13, from 4 to 5, are held at the Skyline Country Club.

If needed, golf clubs are provided. Golf or tennis shoes are recommended. A materials fee of $20 is payable to the instructor at each class held at the Skyline Country Club.
