Berkshire Community College (BCC) will offer the following dog training courses this fall at its South County Center in Great Barrington. Both courses meet Monday morning, from 11 AM to noon.
"Therapy Dog Training, Part I" (WKS 350) prepares students and their dog to become a certified therapy dog team with the Good Dog Foundation. The foundation's highly trained, all volunteer, human-dog teams offer therapy dog services to people in need. This is the first of a two-part course. Classes meet from Sept. 20 through Oct. 25. Cost for registration is $225. Go to http://www.thegooddogfoundation.org/ or call 888-859-9992, to complete a prescreen form.
If the participant and their dog pass this course, they qualify for the second part, "Therapy Dog Training, Part II" (WKS 351). Classes meet from Nov. 1 through Nov. 29. Cost for registration is $245.
