Berkshire Community College (BCC) will offer the following dog training courses this summer at its South County Center in Great Barrington.

"Therapy Dog Training, Part I" (WKS 350) prepares students and their dog to become a certified therapy dog team with the Good Dog Foundation. The foundation's highly trained, all volunteer, human-dog teams offer therapy dog services to people in need. This is the first of a two-part course. Classes meet Monday, June 6 through July 11, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Cost for registration is $225. Go to http://www.thegooddogfoundation.org/ or call 888-859-9992, to complete a prescreen form.

If the participant and their dog pass this course, they qualify for the second part, "Therapy Dog Training, Part II" (WKS 351). Classes meet Monday, July 18 through August 15, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Cost for registration is $245.

"Basic Obedience/Manners for Dogs" (WKS 352) for dogs at least 4 months of age and housebroken, focuses on handlers, leash manners, sit/down/stay, and "leave" it. Basic Doggy Yoga will be taught as well. Classes meet Monday, July 18 through August 15, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. Cost for registration is $156.
