BCC to Host School Committee Forum & Third Berkshire District Debate

Berkshire Community College (BCC), in collaboration with the Pittsfield Gazette and Pittsfield Community Television, will host a forum for School Committee and a debate for the Third Berkshire District State Representative on Monday evening, October 3rd, in the Robert Boland Theatre on BCC's main campus at 6:00 PM and 7:30 PM respectively. Both events are open to the public.

The candidates for Pittsfield's School Committee race have been invited: James Conant, Kathleen Amuso, Jonathan King, Dan Elias, Terry Kinnas, Alf Barbalunga and Katherine Yon. Jenn Smith, staff reporter with The Berkshire Eagle, will moderate the forum.

Voters on Tuesday, November 8th will elect six of the candidates to two-year, unpaid terms.

The top six finishers in the citywide election will serve along with the mayor, who is an ex officio member.

All Third Berkshire District candidates have been invited to participate: Tricia Farley-Bouvier, Pam Malumphy, Mark Jester, and Mark Miller. Brandon Walker, Berkshire County bureau reporter for YNN Albany, will moderate the debate.

Voters on Tuesday, October 18th will elect one candidate to fill the remainder of the term vacated by Christopher Speranzo. Only voters in the Third Berkshire District which include 12 of Pittsfield's 14 precincts will be eligible to participate.
