Anyone who has chosen "exercise" as a New Year's resolution, is invited to register for the following fitness workshops offered by Berkshire Community College (BCC) this spring semester which begins Monday, January 23.
"Shake Your Soul" (WKS-1159), also know known as Kripalu Yoga Dance, is a unique approach to fitness. Adults of all ages and abilities are led through a rich tapestry of movements allowing for an awareness of bodily sensations and feelings. Each student moves at her/his own pace and based on each person's own range of motion. The benefits include improved flexibility; strength and grace; an increased feeling of wholeness and vitality; a reduction in stress; cardiovascular fitness and improved brain health; a discovery of one's own joy in movement; a connection with other people; and just plain fun. No prior dance training is necessary. Classes, taught by Barbara Pastie, Certified Yoga Instructor, meet Monday, Jan. 23 through March 5, from 4:30 PM to 5:30 PM on BCC's main campus. Cost for registration is $50.
