BCC Selects Raverta, Lombard as Inaugural Honorees of the Institution’s Highest Honor

Berkshire Community College (BCC) will honor Paul Raverta, BCC's former President, and Susan Lombard, former Board of Trustees chair, with the 21st Century Educational Leadership Award. This award, the college's highest designation conferred by the president and Board of Trustees, will be presented at the institution's Commencement on May 31.

The award, which will be presented on an occasional basis rather than annually, was created to recognize individuals who have demonstrated exemplary, sustained educational leadership directly impacting BCC or Berkshire County and was established to honor the leadership demonstrated by the inaugural awardees."

"I was pleased to be a part of the selection process for this inaugural award during which I was often reminded of both Paul and Susan's steadfast commitment to the BCC," said President Ellen Kennedy. "Their actions instilled confidence not only in members of the BCC community, but Berkshire County as well. Their support and contributions will impact future generations of learners."

BCC's 53rd Commencement will be held Fri., May 31 at 4:30 p.m. at Tanglewood in Lenox. Stephanie Wilson, an
astronaut with the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), will serve as the keynote speaker for the event.
