Debates Scheduled for Oct. 28 at BCC

Berkshire Community College (BCC) will host two debates on Mon., Oct. 28 for Pittsfield city council candidates - including Ward 6 and At-Large. The debates will be held in the Koussevitzky Arts Center, room K-111, on BCC's main campus at 1350 West Street.

The two candidates seeking the Ward 6 seat, incumbent John Krol and challenger Joseph Nichols, will meet at 6 p.m.

The seven candidates vying for At-Large include: Barry Clairmont (incumbent), Churchill Cotton (incumbent), Melissa Mazzeo (incumbent), Donna Todd Rivers, Mark Miller, James Conant and Kathleen Amuso. The top four vote-getters will be elected to two-year terms effective January 2014. This debate is slated to begin at 7 p.m.

The forums are part of a free collaborative series sponsored by BCC, PCTV and the Pittsfield Gazette.

The City of Pittsfield will hold municipal elections on Tues., Nov. 5.

The public is welcome to attend the free events or watch live telecasts on Pittsfield Community Television. PCTV will also provide internet feeds (live and post-event on-demand) at www.pittsfieldtv.org.
