BCC's Lauren Pellegrino to be Inducted into Berkshire County Girls Basketball Hall of Fame
Feb 7, 2014
The board of directors of the Berkshire County High School Girls Basketball Hall of Fame are proud to announce the schedule of events for the second annual Berkshire County Girls Basketball Hall of Fame Induction, scheduled to be held in Pittsfield on Sat., Feb. 8.

Fourteen individuals - including 11 players, 2 coaches, and 1 contributor that have all had a tremendous impact on Berkshire County girls basketball - highlight the diverse group of inductees that will be honored at Taconic High School, home of the Berkshire County Girls Basketball Hall of Fame.

BCC's Director of Recreational Services Lauren Pellegrino is one of the individuals selected to inducted.

A non-profit organization with the mission of recognizing accomplishments and services within the history of Berkshire County High School Girls Basketball, the Hall of Fame was established in 2012 based on the vision of long-time local coach, Bob O'Neil. The names and honors of the inductees will be displayed permanently in the Taconic High School gymnasium. This is the second year in which induction festivities will take place in an effort to connect the past, present, and future of local girls basketball .

The upcoming Hall of Fame festivities will feature a free youth basketball clinic open to all Berkshire County girls youth players and teams, a Hall of Fame induction ceremony prior to the Lee vs. Taconic high school game, and a Hall of Fame social held at J. Allen's Restaurant. All events are open to the public.

A county-wide youth basketball clinic, as well as a Hall of Fame Game featuring Berkshire rivals - the Lee Lady Wildcats and Taconic Lady Braves - will serve as the centerpieces of the February 8th festivities.

The clinic will take place at Taconic High School for 3rd-5th graders from 10 to 11 a.m. and 6th-8th graders from 11 a.m. to Noon. All clinic participants will receive a free ticket to the afternoon Hall of Fame Game.

A brief on-court Hall of Fame inductee recognition ceremony will take place at 3:00 p.m., followed by a 3:30 Lee vs. Taconic varsity match-up. Following the game, all are invited to join the Hall of Fame inductees at an informal social at J. Allen's Restaurant on North Street in Pittsfield. The Hall of Fame Social is open to the public at no cost. A limited selection of appetizers will be served, with a full menu also available to event attendees.
