BCC Players to Hold Auditions for Young Frankenstein

The Berkshire Community College Players will hold auditions for their upcoming spring musical, Young Frankenstein. The show, based on the movie of the same name, is written by Mel Brooks and Thomas Meehan.

Auditions will be held Mon., March 10 and Tues., March 11 at 7 p.m. in K-111 in BCC's Koussevitzky Arts Center. A 32-bar excerpt from an upbeat Broadway song and a comedic monologue under one minute in length are required. Those auditioning may utilize piano accompaniment (to be provided) or bring a karaoke track. Physical movement will also be a part of the auditioning process.

Callbacks, if needed, will be held Wed., March 12 at 7 p.m. in K-111.

The performances of Young Frankenstein will take place in the Robert Boland Theatre at BCC's main campus on Fri. and Sat., May 9 and 10 at 8 p.m.; Sun., May 11 at 2 p.m.; Fri. and Sat., May 16 and 17 at 8 p.m. and Sun., May 18 at 2 p.m.

The show will be directed by Tom Towne. Musical direction will be provided by Ellen Shanahan with choreography by Andrea Borak.
