A BCC transcript is a chronological listing of
all the credit courses attempted by a student at Berkshire Community College
including the grade received, credits earned and grade point average.
Students that want to obtain a copy of their
transcript for informational, advising, transfer or employment purposes have
several options depending on the purpose.
Students that need to send an official transcript to another college,
university, organization or prospective employer can request one from the
Registrar's Office. The request must be in writing and be signed by the
student. The request can be made by filling out a Transcript
Request Form and submitting it to the Registrar's
Office or by sending a letter or fax. The request must be
accompanied by payment of $3 per transcript. Students making the
request in-person may pay using cash, personal check (made out to Berkshire
Community College), or by credit card (Visa, MasterCard, Discover or American
Express). Mailed requests should include a check or authorization to
charge to a credit card (charge card number and expiration date). Faxed
requests should include credit card authorization. Requests are
generally processed within 2 business days of receipt if the student has no
outstanding financial obligations to the College.
Official transcripts are generally sent directly
from BCC to the receiving institution. Students can request that an
official copy be sent to them. These transcripts will be sent in
a sealed envelope and the transcript will be stamped "Official
Transcript Issued to Student". It is the student's responsibility
to determine if the receiving institution will accept an official transcript
from the student.
The official transcript is printed on secure
paper stock and bears the college seal and the signature of the Registrar.
For less formal purposes, an unofficial
transcript might be sufficient. The unofficial transcript contains the
same information as the official transcript but is not printed on security
paper and does not carry the college seal or Registrar's signature. The
process for requesting a copy is the same as above except there is no
charge for an unofficial transcript. Requests made in person at the
Registrar's Office can be processed immediately.
Students enrolled at BCC since the Spring 2007
semester can use the "Transcript" menu item of their WebAdvisor
account to view or print a list of their attempted coursework, grades
received and cumulative grade point average.
