Cod, MA, in 1990 to address the issue of violence against women.
It is a vehicle for women affected by violence to express their
emotions by decorating a shirt. They then hang the shirt on a clothesline
to be viewed by others as testimony to the problem of violence against
women.” Now a national program, this site provides information
on starting a local clothesline project.

The National Sexual Violence Resource Center (NSVRC) opened in July
2000 as a national information and resource hub relating to all
aspects of sexual violence. A project of the Pennsylvania Coalition
Against Rape, the oldest and one of the largest state sexual assault
coalitions, the NSVRC is funded through a grant from the Centers
For Disease Control and Prevention’s Division of Violence
Prevention. This site provides substantial information on this subject
and resource links for National Sexual Assault Awareness Month.

White Ribbon: Men Working
to End Men’s Violence Against Women

“he White Ribbon symbolizes a man’s pledge to never
commit, condone, or remain silent about violence against women.
The White Ribbon Campaign is the world’s largest effort by
men to end men’s violence against women.” Started by
a handful of men in Canada in 1991 on the second anniversary of
the Montreal Massacre, there are now White Ribbon Campaigns in over
50 countries around the world. What began as an annual awareness
week is now a year-round effort focusing on education and awareness,
and challenging men around their role in ending violence against
women.
