Work-Study
BCC's student employment program is the Federal Work-Study
Program. Qualified students are offered the opportunity to earn
while they learn. Federal work-study awards are made to students
on the basis of demonstrated financial need through completion of
the Free
Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and at least 6 credits
enrollment each semester.

Federal
Work-Study Timeline
- January - Students file FAFSA by May 1
- April - Supervisors complete student work evaluations
- April - Students submit satisfaction surveys and
summer work request
- April - Supervisors submit job description/contract
updates for following year program participation
- May - Students check spring semesters award balances
- May, June, July, etc. - Award offers mailed to
students
- August - Students make appointments to complete
payroll forms, view job postings, and arrange interviews
- September - Students authorized to work on first-come,
first-served basis
- October through remainder of year - Financial Aid
Office maintains waitlist
- December - Students check fall semester award balances
