BCC Offers New Indian Cooking Workshops

Berkshire Community College will offer the following new Indian Cuisine cooking workshops at its main campus on West Street this summer. All classes meet Saturday, from 11 to 1. Cost for registration is $30 per workshop.

"Indian Vegetarian Appetizers" (WKS 2520) teaches participants the fast and easy way to make vegetable pakoras, the perfect appetizer for entertaining. Class meets May 29.

"Indian Vegetable and Daal Main Course" (WKS 2521) shows students how to make different types of daals (lentils) and vegetables using curry masala. Class meets June 5.

"Indian Bread" (WKS 2522) teaches students to make two to three kinds of Indian bread such as stuffed parantha, roti and naan. Class meets June 12.

"Indian Rice" (WKS 2523) shows participant how to prepare two types of Indian rice; Matar pulao or jeera rice and veg biriani. Class meets June 19

"Indian Desert" (WKS 2524) shows students how to make Kheer (rice pudding) and Soji halwa (cream of wheat halwa). Class meets June 26.
