Mark Orlowski, an alum of Berkshire Community College, was the keynote speaker recently at the annual conference of the New England Board of Higher Education. The conference focused on sustainability "A Climate Change on Campus." The session covered the economics of sustainability, integrating sustainability across the curriculum, growing workforce programs for green jobs and more.
Orlwoski, Executive Director of the Sustainable Endowments Institute, a non-profit organization designed to help higher education institutions become more sustainable, earned his AA in Liberal Arts with a Peace and World Order Major. He graduated from BCC in June, 2002 with high honors, combining activism with environmental studies. After graduating from BCC, Orlowski continued his education at Williams College.
