Rape Victim Turned Advocate to Speak at BCC
Oct 1, 2010
Donna Palomba, founder of Jane Doe No More, Inc., will speak at Berkshire Community College (BCC) on Tuesday, October 12, 2010 at 12:15 PM in the Koussevitzky Arts Center room K111.

Jane Doe No More Inc. was born out of Palomba's own experience as a victim. Sexually assaulted over 13 years ago and subsequently mistreated by the very system created to protect and serve victims, Palomba, a marketing executive and community leader, has been on a quest to right the wrongs of the system. That experience was the impetus for a bill introduced in February 2007 by Gov. M. Jodi Rell. The bill (H.B. No. 7085), pending in the state legislature, would eliminate the statute of limitation for prosecution of sexual assault offenses using DNA evidence.

For more information on the program, call the Office of Student Life at 413-236-1662 or email bwallace@berkshirecc.edu. Forum credit is available for BCC students.
