BCC Announces February Forums

The public is invited to attend the following free Forum events on the main campus of Berkshire Community College (BCC). Except as noted, all events are from 12:15PM to 1:15PM in room K-111 of the college's Koussevitzky Arts Center.

Tuesday, Feb.1: "Live to Tell: Priceless Gifts" - Learn more about live organ donation and how you could give someone a second chance at life.

Thursday, Feb. 3: "Allen Livermore Jazz Ensemble" - Allen Livermore, jazz saxophonist and composer and his quartet will perform standards, jazz classics, and original compositions.

Wednesday, Feb. 9: "Service Learning: From the Classroom to the Community and Back" - BCC students share their experiences and what they have learned through their involvement in service learning. SBA Lounge. 12 PM - 1 PM.

Wednesday, Feb. 9: "Precious" - One of the most talked-about pictures of the decade starring Gabourey Sidibe. 6:30 PM

Thursday, Feb. 10: "2011 Berkshire County All College MA Relay for Life Kick-off" - Please join us in the fight against cancer.

Thursday, Feb. 17: "Elizabeth Freeman: the Struggle for Freedom" - Emilie Piper and David Levinson will talk about the life of this Massachusetts slave who successfully sued for her freedom in 1781.

Thursday, Feb. 24: "Art is not Created in a Vacuum" - William Kluba discusses the way artists develop their work and how the context of their work is shaped and conceived as seen through the lens of time.
