Dunham Elected BCC Student Trustee
Sep 20, 2011
Raymond Dunham has been selected by the BCC student body to serve as the 2011-2012 Student Trustee. Dunham, who is originally from Springfield, now resides in Pittsfield and is attending BCC with a major in criminal justice. He anticipates completing his degree requirements by fall 2012 at which time he plans to attend law school.

The BCC Student Trustee serves as the liaison between the students and the BCC Board of Trustees. Dunham's term of office will run through June 30, 2012. To be eligible for the position, candidates must be currently enrolled at BCC and maintain a full-time student status for the entire length of his/her term. Additionally, the Student Trustee must maintain a 2.000 GPA for each semester and a cumulative 2.000 GPA for the entire term of office. Upon election, the Student Trustee automatically becomes an official member of the Student Government Ambassador (SGA).

"Being a Marine Corp Veteran, I've always felt comfortable in a leadership role," commented Dunham on his newly elected position. "The Student Trustee is an advocate for students and, just as I intend to go into [the practice of] law, I want to be an advocate and voice for people who sometimes don't have a voice. I also want to be part of something important and look forward to networking with the board and learning from them."
