Oct 24, 2011
Berkshire Community College (BCC), in collaboration with the Pittsfield Gazette and Pittsfield Community Television, will host debates for Pittsfield's Ward 3, 4 and 5 Council & Mayor Monday, October 24th, in the Robert Boland Theatre on BCC's main campus at 6:30 PM, 7:00 PM, 7:30 PM and 8:00 PM respectively. All events are open to the public.

The candidates for Pittsfield's Ward city council races have been invited: Ward 3 - Paul Capitanio and Jeff Ferrin, Ward 4 - Chris Connell and Ozias Vincelette, and Ward - 5 Jonathan Lothrop and Joseph Breault.

Mayoral candidates Peter Marchetti and Dan Bianchi will debate for the first time at this event at 8 PM. This will be the first one-on-one encounter for the mayoral candidates and is the only event currently scheduled to which the public is invited. Brandon Walker, Berkshire reporter for YNN, will serve as moderator. In addition to questions posed by Walker, the event will include the opportunity for the candidates to raise a few topics and questions.

The public is invited to watch the both events, either in person at BCC or via live telecasts on CityLink, the government channel of PCTV, or streaming at www.pittsfieldtv.org.

Monday's debate is part of an ongoing collaboration between BCC, Pittsfield Community Television and The Pittsfield Gazette.
