Calligraphy/Adobe Workshops Offered this Spring by BCC
Jan 10, 2012
Berkshire Community College (BCC) will offer the following workshops this Spring semester which begins Monday, January 23.

"Copperplate Calligraphy" (WKS-1555) teaches students to use the pointed pen to achieve the thicks and thins of letters through demonstration, examples and practice. Once the letters are learned, composition of a calligraphed page will be explored. Classes, taught by Ann Kremers, Artist, meet Tuesday, Jan. 24 through April 10, from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM on BCC's main campus. Cost for registration is $30.

"Developing in Adobe Lightroom" (WKS-2463) introduces students to digital camera workings and technology. It teaches the difference between jpeg images and camera RAW, how to check for correct exposure before shooting a picture, the use of the gray card and of course, how to use Adobe Lightroom to develop digital negatives. Learn how to install and customize Lightroom application, choose a color space appropriate for requirements and use, read and interpret a gray scales and color histogram and use it to correct exposure. Students will work with digital negatives supplied by the instructor and can bring their own for classroom help. This is a standalone course in Adobe Lightroom. Familiarity with, and ownership of, a digital SLR camera is helpful. Classes, taught by Joseph Zeh, Consultant, meet Tuesday, Jan 24 through Jan. 28, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Cost for registration is $120. (Location: TBA).
