Eric Marczak to Perform at BCC Forum
Jan 18, 2012
The spring session of FORUM on Berkshire Community College's (BCC) main campus will open with a vibrant and uplifting concert performance by Eric Marczak, Thursday, Feb. 2 at 12:15 PM in room K-111 of the Koussevitzky Arts Center. Marczak will favor his audience with a broad range of numbers played on a wide selection of flutes, each hand-crafted by the player himself. The variety of the instruments he will use, as well as the wide range of music he will perform, leave one somewhat in awe. For example, one flute at a time is enough of a challenge for most musicians. Marczak does more. Further, many of his offerings will be accompanied by a guitar. He will also fill in between his numbers with a bit of fascinating commentary on his handsome creations and other matters.

Marczak is not only a highly accomplished musician but a veritable Renaissance man when it comes to his shop where he makes not only flutes, but also guitars, sculptures, furniture, Shoji - Wood and paper screens, bowls and "almost anything made from wood." He works with the Helderberg Hilltowns Association. In another aspect of his life, he is an ardent supporter of Native American rights. This FORUM event is free and open to the public.
