Veterans Awareness Week Events to be Held at BCC

In honor of Veterans Awareness Week, Berkshire Community College (BCC) will hold the following events on the college's main campus on West Street.

From Monday, April 23 through Thursday, April 26, the VA Informational Mobile Van will be parked in the front circle and The Missing Man Table will be set up in the SBA Lounge with information available regarding the symbolism associated with the table.

On Monday, April 23, a formal Flag Raising Ceremony will be held using a flag that flew during Operation Enduring Freedom in Kunar Province. The event will take place in the front circle at 8:15 AM. Joe Sicotte, BCC Student, will sing the National Anthem.

A bake sale will be held in the Cafeteria on April 25, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM. A representative from the Veterans Administration Western Massachusetts Healthcare System will be on hand to answer any questions regarding VA benefits, programs and services and provide an opportunity for any Veteran to enroll in VA health care as an earned benefit.

On April 27, the movie Restrepo will be shown in the Koussevitzky Arts Center, at 2:00 PM. Forum credit will be available for BCC students attending.
