BCC to Present New Mandarin Chinese Workshop

Berkshire Community College (BCC), will offer the following new workshop this summer at its South County Center.

"Learn Mandarin Chinese" (WKS-235) teaches basic Mandarin vocabulary and sentence patterns while learning correct pronunciation distinguishing the four tones. Participants learn to write the 37 phonetic symbols and some simple characters. Language study is a window into the Chinese culture and this workshop expands on this according to interest. Students will engage with classmates in an active way and even sing a few songs in Chinese. Classes meet Mondays and Wednesdays, July 9 through August 8, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Cost for registration is $195.
