Berkshire Healthcare Harvest Run at BCC

The Berkshire Healthcare Harvest Run will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, October 20, on the scenic cross-country trails at Berkshire Community College (BCC). The event begins with a 5K trail run, followed by a 1 mile fun run. All proceeds from this event will benefit the Berkshire Community College nursing program.

Cash prizes will be awarded to the overall male and female 5K finishers as follows: $200 for first place, $100 for second place, and $50 for third place. The top three male and female finishers in as many as eight age categories will also be recognized. The Berkshire Healthcare Long-Term care affiliates will be providing post-race refreshments for all runners.

A "Get Stewed" Stew Cook-Off will be held with entries prepared by the chefs at various Berkshire Healthcare Long-Term Care facilities. Runners and spectators will be able to sample the stews, and first, second and third place trophies will be awarded by a three-judge panel.

In addition to lead sponsor Berkshire Healthcare, the race is sponsored by Action Ambulance, Aladco Linen Services, Balance Rock Investment Group, Berkshire Gas, Berkshire Running Center, Charlene Manor Extended Care Facility, Fairview Commons Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Hillcrest Commons Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Molari Employment and Health Care Services, Gentiva Home Health, Dr. Charles F. Ross, Podiatric and Sports Medicine, HospiceCare In the Berkshires, IntegriScript, Kimball Farms Lifecare Retirement Community, Mt. Greylock Extended Care Facility, Matty's Run, Home Instead Senior Care, North Adams Commons Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Williamstown Commons Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts.

Registration is $20 for the 5K and $8 for the fun run until October 17. Race Day registration begins at 8:30 AM at BCC's Paterson Field House and fees will be $25 for the 5K and $10 for the fun run. The first 150 to register for the 5K will receive a free long-sleeve technical shirt in men's and women's sizes.
