BCC Players to Present the Dark Comedy Cartoon
Nov 28, 2012
The Berkshire Community College (BCC) Players will present their fall production, Cartoon, from Nov. 30 to Dec. 2 at BCC's Boland Theatre.  A dark comedy by Steve Yockey, the play showcases the exploits of a mismatched band of cartoon stereotypes on a wild ride through an animated world presented in the style of a Commedia dell'Arte scenario gone berserk.

The production, directed by Sam Slack, is a violent social commentary exploring the rapid coalescence of media, politics and consumer giants - and the utter chaos that ensues.

The cast includes: Brittany Nicholson (Esther), Nick Leonard (Trouble), Caitlyn Mazzacano (Damsel), Christopher Dellea (Suitor), John Kight (Winston Puppet), Robert Wehry (Rockstar), Aja Young (Yumi) and Lindsay DeWinkeleer (Akane).  Will Demick serves as stage manager, with technical direction by Kevin McGerigle. The production is directed by Sam Slack.

Performances include: Friday, Nov. 30 at 8 p.m.; Saturday, Dec. 1 at 8 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 2 at 2 p.m.  Tickets, which will be available at the door one hour prior to the start of each performance, are $10 for general admission and $5 for students, BCC faculty and staff and senior citizens.

For more information, contact Kevin McGerigle at 413-236-4713 or kmcgerig@berkshirecc.edu.  Cartoon is presented by permission of Samuel French Inc.
