The Berkshire Healthcare Harvest Run will be held at 10 a.m. on Sat., Oct. 19, on the scenic cross-country trails at Berkshire Community College (BCC). The event begins with a 5K trail run, followed by a one-mile fun run and walk. All proceeds from this event will benefit the Berkshire Community College nursing program.
The Harvest Run is part of Berkshire Running Center's 2013 B21 Race Series. Cash prizes will be awarded to the overall male and female 5K finishers as follows: $200 for first place, $100 for second place and $50 for third place. The top three male and female finishers in as many as eight age categories will also be recognized. Ribbons will be awarded to all one-mile finishers. Post-race refreshments for all runners will be provided thanks to donations from many local businesses.
A "Chili Cook-Off" competition will be held with entries prepared by the chefs at various Berkshire Healthcare Long-Term Care facilities. Runners and spectators will be able to sample the chili - and first, second and third place trophies will be awarded by a three-judge panel.
