BCC Offering Non-Credit Entry Level Manufacturing Program at No Cost
Oct 9, 2013
Berkshire Community College (BCC) is offering a non-credit entry level manufacturing program at no cost starting Oct. 17 at Taconic High School's (THS) Manufacturing Technology Lab. Class will meet Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. for 13 weeks.

The Level 1 Entry Level Manufacturing Employee Program offers 66 hours of training in math, blueprint reading and metrology, as well as a 10-hour OSHA course and instruction in work readiness. The program aims to provide participants with the skills manufacturing companies seek in an entry-level employee.

A pilot session, the program is offered at no cost through a grant from the Massachusetts Community Colleges & Workforce Development Transportation Agenda, which is 100 percent funded through a $20 million grant from the U.S. Department of Labor, Employment & Training Administration TAACCCT. Grant Agreement #TC-22505-11-60-A-25.

The Level 2 Program, to be offered in the spring, will include CNC and other operator and programmer training.

The deadline to register is Oct. 15. For more information or to register, contact Beth Lapierre 413-236-5251 or elapierr@berkshirecc.edu.
