BCC Names Three New Professors

Berkshire Community College (BCC) is pleased to announce the addition of three new professors.

Traci Dundas has joined BCC as an assistant professor of mathematics. Dundas previously taught mathematics at Monument Mountain Regional High School. Prior to that, she worked as a teaching/research assistant at the University of Kentucky. Dundas holds a bachelor's degree from Transylvania University in Lexington, K.Y., a master's degree from the University of Kentucky and a doctorate of education from the University of Kentucky. She resides in West Stockbridge, Mass. with her husband and son.

Joanne Heaton has been named an assistant professor in the Nursing Department. She previously worked at Berkshire Medical Center in a variety of roles including as a telemetry nurse, in labor and delivery with maternal/child health and in interventional radiology. She is a member of a variety of professional organizations including: the American Nurses' Association, the Massachusetts Nurses' Association, the Massachusetts Teachers' Association and Sigma Theta Tau (International Honor Society of Nursing). She currently serves on the Professional Development Committee at Berkshire Medical Center. She garnered an associate degree in nursing from Maria College in Albany, N.Y., a bachelor of science in nursing from UMass Amherst and a master of science in nursing from Grand Canyon University in Arizona. She resides in Pittsfield, Mass. with her husband.

Frank Van Valen has been named assistant professor of mathematics. He previously worked at Columbia-Greene Community College and at Fulton-Montgomery Community College. He earned both his bachelor's and master's degrees from the University at Albany and a master's degree from Western Governors University in Salt Lake City, Utah. He resides in Catskill, N.Y. with his wife and three children.
