BCC Offering Advanced Manufacturing Workforce Training at No Cost

Berkshire Community College (BCC) is offering Advanced Manufacturing Workforce Training at no cost. The non-credit 100-hour program, which is being offered in collaboration with McCann Technical School in North Adams, will be taught by McCann faculty as well as four local manufacturing professionals.

The program will teach skills including: computer numerical control (CNC), mill and lathe training, math blueprint reading, measuring, a 10-hour OSHA course, work readiness and career search skills.

The 10-week program will be offered Tues., Wed. and Thurs. from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. at McCann Technical School starting later this fall. An official start date is to be announced following participant sign-up.

A pilot session, the program is offered at no cost as it is funded by a grant sponsored by the Berkshire County Regional Employment Board and BerkshireWorks Career Center. This program is supported in part through a grant from the Massachusetts Community Colleges & Workforce Development Transportation Agenda, which is 100 percent funded through a $20 million grant from the U.S. Department of Labor, Employment & Training Administration TAACCCT.
