BCC Players to Present Dramatic Comedy Dead Man's Cell Phone
Feb 12, 2014

The Berkshire Community College Players will present the dramatic comedy Dead Man's Cell Phone on Fri., Feb. 21 and Sat., Feb. 22 at 8 p.m. and Sun., Feb. 23 at 2 p.m.

The comedy, written by Sarah Ruhl and directed by Sam Slack, explores the paradoxical ability of modern technology to both unite and isolate people in the digital age. The play received a Helen Hayes Award for Outstanding New Play.

According to Charles Usherwood of The New York Times, as the play "takes surprising twists and leaps, the lament for the supposed coziness of pre-digital culture takes on layers of nuance and contraction."

The cast includes BCC theatre students Alanna Bassett (Jean), Lily Christie (Mrs. Gottlieb), Savanna Dunham (Hermia), Ryan Kordana (Dwight), William Moro (Gordon) and Kierstin Valenti (Other Woman/Stranger).

Tickets are $15 general admission and $10 for BCC staff, senior citizens and students (K-12 or college). Tickets will be sold starting one hour before each performance; seating will be first-come first-served.
