Extreme Weather course offered this Fall at BCC

Extreme Weather: Past, Present and Future (SCI-126), a 3 credit science elective will be offered this fall. The course will be taught by Joseph Kravitz, a meteorologist with M.S. in Atmospheric Science from University at Albany. Held at Berkshire Community College's (BCC) West Street campus, the course runs Tuesday evenings from September 7th through December 21st from 5:30 to 8:30 PM.

The course is designed for anyone interested in weather and/or climate change and will examine the atmospheric processes involved in the formation, evolution and destruction caused by extreme weather events (e.g. hurricanes, floods, tornadoes, blizzards, drought, etc.) and the impact on the region affected. The likely influence of global warming on the frequency and severity of these events will also be examined.
