Anyone interested in learning to play the guitar or brush up on guitar skills is invited to register f
or the following music workshops held this fall at the South County Center of Berkshire Community College (BCC). Cost for registration is $145 for each workshop.
"Absolute Beginner's Guitar" (WKS-796) teaches the basics of guitar from tuning, strumming and finger picking to simple lead and bass lines. Classes meet Tuesday Sept. 6 through Dec. 13, from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM, or 6:00 to 7:00 PM, or Thursday, Sept. 8 through Dec. 15, from 4:30 PM to 5:30 PM.
"Absolute Beginner's Guitar: Part II" (WKS-893) is a continuation of "Absolute Beginner's Guitar" (WKS 796). Classes meet Tuesday, Sept. 6 through Dec. 13, from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM or Thurs., Sept. 8 through Dec. 15, from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM.
"Songwriting Workshop" (WKS-1528) for all levels of experience, teaches songwriting basics. Students work on weekly assignments to improve music skills. Classes meet Thursday, Sept. 8 through Dec. 15, from 7:30 PM to 8:30 PM.
"Ensemble Workshop" (WKS-1529), a new workshop, teaches participants to make music with a group using whatever instrument they play. Classes meet Tuesday, Sept. 9 through Dec. 13, from 8:00 PM to 9:00 PM.
"Guitar Jam Workshop" (WKS-841) combines group play with practical applications of music theory and guitar techniques. Classes meet Thursday, Sept. 8 through Dec. 15, from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM.
