The BCC Annual Fund comprises gifts of all sizes from alumni, friends, faculty and staff. Donations to the Annual Fund have an immediate impact on students' success in the form of Emergency Financial Aid, technology upgrades and State-of-the-Art Classrooms, academic program initiatives and enhancements, faculty support, and other immediate college needs. Unrestricted gifts provide the greatest flexibility for the Foundation to support the greatest needs each year. Donors may also designate their gift to a specific initiative or program, and may choose to make a memorial or honorary gift.
Last year, state appropriation covered only 39% of BCC's operating budget. The college must now rely more and more on private gifts to the BCC Foundation to deliver on its mission of providing an affordable, accessible quality education to all residents of the Berkshires.
Our generous alumni and friends are responding to the need as they have helped us grow the Annual Fund over 137% in the last two years. Thankfully so - with these funds BCC students have come back this fall to new equipment and computer software in the Chemistry and Engineering labs with a full re-design and restoration of the Engineering Lab to follow soon. Annual Fund dollars have also recently financed a new MIDI Lab for music instruction and recording, wireless access throughout campus, culinary lab equipment, and furnishings for the Honors Scholar Center.
BCC students deserve the very best and we need your support to provide them with the resources needed to succeed in today's world. Please consider supporting the Annual Fund Campaign.

Over half of today's BCC students receive some form of financial aid, and scholarships are a wonderful way to invest in the future. You may fund a small scholarship with an annual gift, or you may consider creating an endowed scholarship fund with a gift of $5,000 or more. Over $180,000 was awarded to BCC students at the 2011 Awards and Honors Ceremony, yet we had more qualified students than funds to disperse.

Endowed Gift to the BCC Foundation
You may choose to invest in future generations of Berkshire Community College students by creating an endowed fund with the BCC Foundation, or supporting an existing fund. When you designate an endowed fund for your gift, the principal is invested in perpetuity and the earned interest is used as the donor intends. The volunteer board of the BCC Foundation is responsible for the creation, oversight and stewardship of all endowed accounts.
Many of the BCC Foundation's endowed funds are named scholarships, however, there is significant opportunity to make an investment in academic program support and facility enhancements with new endowed funds, linking a family or company name permanently with Berkshire Community College.
Gifts to endowed funds can be made by check, credit card, and securities, as well as through planned giving.
For more information on creating or supporting an endowed fund, please contact the Director of Development, Jennifer Kerwood at 413-236-2188 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
