The BCC Annual Fund comprises gifts of all sizes from alumni, friends, faculty and staff. Donations to the Annual Fund have an immediate impact on students' success in the form of Emergency Financial Aid, technology upgrades and State-of-the-Art Classrooms, academic program initiatives and enhancements, faculty support, and other immediate college needs. Unrestricted gifts provide the greatest flexibility for the Foundation to support the greatest needs each year. Donors may also designate their gift to a specific initiative or program, and may choose to make a memorial or honorary gift.
As Berkshire Community College embarks upon its 50th year, we have a lot to celebrate, including a growing Annual Fund. The 2008-09 Annual Fund campaign jumped an amazing 52%! As a result, we will be able to increase support for emergency student financial aid this year, continue to fund innovative faculty-student initiatives, and purchase much needed technology in the classroom. Thanks to the Annual Fund, we have also just installed a new 12-station state-of-the-art Musical Instrument Digital Interface (MIDI) Lab for music instruction and recording. We are grateful to our alumni and friends for substantially increasing their private support for BCC, especially during these challenging economic times.
In honor of BCC's 50th Anniversary, we have set an Annual Fund goal of $50,000. Your support is needed now, perhaps more than ever, to help BCC continue its tradition of access, quality and affordability. Will you help us celebrate our 50th with a gift to the Annual Fund of $50 or more? Your donation, when pooled with others, will make a tremendous impact on the college and today's BCC students.
The 2009-2010 Annual Fund campaign is underway. Donors of $50 or more in this 50th Anniversary year will receive a special thank-you gift.
Thank you for your support.

Over half of today's BCC students receive some form of financial aid, and scholarships are a wonderful way to invest in the future. You may fund a small scholarship with an annual gift, or you may consider creating an endowed scholarship fund with a gift of $5,000 or more. In 2009, over $120,000 in scholarships were presented to graduating or returning BCC Students at the Foundation's Annual Awards Night.

Endowed Gift to the BCC Foundation
You may choose to invest in future generations of Berkshire Community College students by creating an endowed fund with the BCC Foundation, or supporting an existing fund. When you designate an endowed fund for your gift, the principal is invested in perpetuity and the earned interest is used as the donor intends. The volunteer board of the BCC Foundation is responsible for the creation, oversight and stewardship of all endowed accounts.
Many of the BCC Foundation's endowed funds are named scholarships, however, there is significant opportunity to make an investment in academic program support and facility enhancements with new endowed funds, linking a family or company name permanently with Berkshire Community College.
Gifts to endowed funds can be made by check, credit card, and securities, as well as through planned giving.
For more information on creating or supporting an endowed fund, please contact the Director of Development, Jennifer Kerwood at 413-236-2188 or jkerwood@berkshirecc.edu.
