The Jonathan Edwards Library Facility
The
Jonathan Edwards Library building forms the southern side of BCC's
central campus quadrangle. The Library occupies most of this two-story
structure. It provides a pleasant environment for research, study,
tutoring, browsing, and other activities.
The main level houses the circulation and reference
departments, online catalog, and other public areas as well as the
library office and college archives. Most current periodical issues
are conveniently arranged in the browsing room. Check the "New
Books" stand here for recent acquisitions, and the adjacent
display area for subject exhibits of current interest. The periodical
stacks provide open access to five years worth of back issues; other
back issues are on microfilm or in storage. Public access catalog
(PAC) computers are available along with other computers for additional
access to periodical literature and other online information. A
photocopier, microfilm reader/printers, and various audiovisual
machines are also stationed here. The library office has a fax machine
and copier for faculty and staff use.
Most of the books are located on the lower level of
the Library. They are called circulating books because they may
be checked out and circulated outside the library. Study carrels,
tables, and a PAC computer are also located on the lower level.
