Orientation Leaders

Positions

Orientation Leaders aide new students and families in their transition to Berkshire Community College. Through a variety of experiences and opportunities, Orientation Leaders have the power to make a positive and lasting difference in the BCC Community. You will develop great leadership and resume building skills in the process. These are paid positions.

Orientation Leader Duties

  • Serve as official ambassador to the BCC campus
  • Serve as a positive role model to new students and their families
  • Develop an expanded knowledge of BCC
  • Conduct campus tours for new students, schools, classes, and guests
  • Represent BCC during college events
  • Assist with organization, preparation, implementation, and evaluation of the New Student Orientation cycle and related programs and events
  • Acquaint new students with campus services, activities, facilities, and campus rules and regulations
  • Follow-up with student connections
  • Work with diverse populations
  • Work on calling campaigns
  • Provide tips on being a successful student
  • Assist with variety of office related tasks
  • Demonstrating a high standard of professionalism at all times
  • Demonstrate strong communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
  • Exhibit leadership, initiative, dependability, discipline and enthusiasm
  • Maintain professional appearance and demeanor
  • Possess an enthusiastic, positive attitude and be willing and eager to provide excellent customer service
  • Provide office support to the Student Engagement Center
  • Attend leadership training
  • Most importantly, must want to have fun

Minimum qualifications: Must be a BCC Student and able to work flexible hours.

Position will run a one-year cycle; May 2024 - May 2025 with an average of 10 hours per week. Slightly more during peak times. Training begins early May.
