Berkshire Community College to Host Home Basketball Games for the First Time in 20 Years

For the first time in approximately 20 years, Berkshire Community College (BCC) will host two upcoming home BCC Falcons v. Rutgers basketball games. The games are part of the institution’s participation in the newly created Southern New England Club Basketball League. The BCC Falcons will take on American International College on Sun., Jan. 25 and Goodwin College on Sun., Feb. 1. Both games will begin at 1 p.m.

The BCC Falcons, which feature players from throughout Berkshire County, are currently 1-2 with their win over UMASS Lowell. The Falcons are being led by high scorers and rebounders Keiland Cross (averaging 14 points, 6.7 rebounds), Joe Wiggins (11 points, 5.3 rebounds), and Mike McMahon (9 points & 5 rebounds).

The BCC Alumni Association will hold an Alumni Athletic Event before and during the Feb. 1 game. All BCC alumni are invited to visit a hospitality room with complimentary refreshments beginning at noon. At halftime, alumni who played sports anytime throughout BCC’s history, will be invited to participate in a special presentation on center court.

The games, which will held in Paterson Field House located at the institution’s main campus at 1350 West St. in Pittsfield, are free and open to the public.

Looking ahead in the season, the Falcons will play away games against club teams from Yale University, Assumption College, Brown University, and more. Play-offs will be held the weekend of Mar. 20–22 at UMASS Amherst.
