Berkshire Community College will host a Fresh Check Day in conjunction with the annual End of the Year BBQ on Tues., May 3 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Fresh Check Day, a concept created by The Jordan Porco Foundation, is designed to bring the entire campus community together to “check-in” on the mental health and wellness of college students.
The BCC Quad will be transformed into an expo-like atmosphere to bring together interactive exhibits combined with food, prizes and giveaways. The booths will feature peer-to peer messaging in a positive, community-focused setting. This year’s event will include messaging regarding substance use prevention, suicide prevention and physical and mental health wellness.
Food will be provided by BCC Food Services. If the weather is inclement, the event will be held in BCC’s Cafeteria.
The event, which is FREE and open to BCC students, has been organized by Personal Counseling, Office of Student Life, and Recreational Services with collaborating campus departments at BCC, student volunteers, community partners and representatives of The Jordan Porco Foundation.
