Non-profit Institute workshop series

Eight part series begins Jan. 28

Berkshire Community College (BCC) will begin hosting the Non-profit Institute, which will run eight consecutive sessions, weekly, on Thursday evenings from 5:30-7:00 p.m. via Zoom, January 28 - March 18, 2021.

This program offers a complete overview of resource development functions. Open to nonprofit staff, board members and community volunteers, discussion will focus on real world needs and daily challenges. Participants may enroll in the eight-part series for $250; the fee for each separate session is $40.00.

Instructor Abbie von Schlegell, CFRE, FAFP, has 40+ years of nonprofit experience, is a Certified Governance Trainer with BoardSource, and is a Strategic Partner with DonorSearch, the prospect research company.

    Volunteers (Thu, Feb. 18, 2021)  

    • Recruiting and retaining volunteers
    • Matching their needs with yours
    • Creating meaningful jobs for them
    • When not to try to use volunteers

    Annual Fund/Annual Appeals (Thu, Feb. 25, 2021)  

    • Why have an annual appeal at all?
    • How to best structure annual appeals, amid special events, campaigns
    • What about monthly giving

    Major Gifts (from individuals) (Thu, Mar. 4, 2021)  

    • What is a major gift for your organization?
