2018 Conference Program
Because of Berkshire Community College’s commitment to environmentally sustainable practices, we are using Sched, a digital platform, for the conference schedule and presentation descriptions. Presenters also have the ability to upload files to their individual sessions, so please use this tool for resource sharing. Sched can be accessed from any device, including your mobile phone (just type the URL into your phone’s web browser). We strongly encourage you to go paperless and use this tool for your conference planning needs:
Cost of Attendance
The cost for the conference is $60.00 per person. Please note that participants will not be asked to pay at the time of registration. Each college will be billed for the number of registrants from their campus.
After the Conference
All conference attendees are invited to join us from 4–6 pm for a post-conference reception with a cash bar and light hors d’oeuvres at the Country Club of Pittsfield, 639 South St., Pittsfield, MA, 01201.
Our theme this year is Shifting Paradigms: Re-Imagining Student Success.
This year’s theme asks participants to re-imagine how we define, assess, and support student success. The conference tracks focus on innovative practices in and out of the classroom and the ways we can make our campuses inclusive of all students.
There are four conference tracks:
- Innovations in Teaching, Learning, and Technology
- Innovations in Student Support Programming
- Measuring Success In and Out of the Classroom
- Creating Inclusive Campuses
David Yeager, Ph.D.
- Associate Professor of Developmental Psychology, University of Texas at Austin
- Leading authority on Grit, Performance and the Growth Mindset
- Fellow at the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching
We can foster the grit needed to be lifelong learners, at school, at work, and in life.
Dr. Yeager will open the day sharing and discussing his research on growth mindset, followed by morning and afternoon sessions presented by sixty community college staff and faculty.
