A Veterans Expo will be held on Fri., Nov. 7, from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Crowne Plaza in Pittsfield. The free event, which is for military personnel, Veterans and their families, and those that serve them, will provide information on such topics as job search strategies, veteran benefits, wellness activities, and behavioral health services.
A complimentary breakfast will be served from 8:30 to 9:30, followed by a panel discussion at 10 a.m. The panel discussion will include: Veterans Bryan Doe, an outreach representative with the Springfield Vet Center; Hank Morris, a Vietnam veteran and Caleb Appleton a current Berkshire Community College (BCC) student and former Marine. Kevin Cahill, clinical director at Soldier-On will also join the discussion. Learn how these veterans overcame obstacles and successfully re-integrated back into our community.
The first 100 Veterans to register will receive a free blanket. There will also be a Veterans-only free raffle!
Information tables will include: BCC, Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts, ServiceNet, SAVE, Brain Injury Association of Massachusetts, United Cerebral Palsy, Berkshire Works Veterans Services, United Personnel, Springfield Vet Center, Goodwill Industries/Suit Yourself, Molari Employment, & Health Services, and Mildred Elley, among others.
The Veterans Expo is sponsored by the following organizations: Goodwill Industries of the Berkshires, the Berkshire Area Health Education Center, the Berkshire Coalition for Suicide Prevention, BCC, Berkshire Health Systems, The Brien Center, The City of Pittsfield's Veterans' Services Department, Greylock Federal Credit Union and the National Alliance on Mental Illness of Berkshire County.
