Gisbrecht brings more than 20 years of collegiate coaching experience marked by sustained
program growth, championship success, and post-season breakthroughs. Most recently,
she led the University of Saint Joseph to its first GNAC playoff appearance since
2014 and the program’s first post-season victory since 2000. Prior to USJ, she spent
13 seasons at Elms College as head coach of both the men’s and women’s volleyball
programs, capturing four NECC championships and earning six Coach of the Year honors.
Her teams produced multiple conference players and rookies of the year, 64 All-Conference
selections, and two AVCA All-Americans. Both women’s and men’s programs won their
first conference championships under her tenure with the men’s program achieving a
program best No. 5 national ranking in 2019.
Beyond competitive success, Gisbrecht has been a strong advocate for athlete development
in fitness and academics, drawing on her background as a strength and conditioning
coach to educate athletes across multiple sports and prepare students for careers
and graduate study in strength and conditioning, physical therapy, and occupational
therapy.
A decorated two sport student-athlete at Ohio Wesleyan University, she earned All-America
honors in track and field, was named conference Player of the Year in volleyball,
and was inducted into the Ohio Wesleyan Athletics Hall of Fame in 2005. She holds
degrees from Ohio Wesleyan University and Smith College.
