Berkshire Community College’s (BCC) Diversity Committee and Service-Learning Program are partnering with the Harvest Table, Central Berkshire Habitat for Humanity and Pittsfield Community Connection for the National Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service on Mon., Jan. 18.
This is the third year that BCC will participate in the Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service. Thirty BCC students and employees are expected to participate.
“We’re very excited to host our Third Annual Day of Service. It’s a great opportunity to take a day off and turn it into a ‘day on.’ The goal is to get people involved with our community,” said Brianne Morrison, special projects consultant with BCC’s Service-Learning Program.
Volunteers will meet at the First United Methodist Church located at 55 Fenn St. in Pittsfield at 9 a.m.
Volunteers will then disperse to three Pittsfield locations for the day including
- Habitat for Humanity: Habitat ReStore (399 Hubbard Ave.)
- Gladys Allen Brigham Center: Activities with children (165 East St.)
- The Harvest Table: Cook and serve community lunch (55 Fenn St.)
For more information, email Morrison. A limited number of slots for volunteers from outside BCC are available. Registration is required.
