Awards Ceremony
Since the 1960s the Falconer Award has been given to students in recognition of their outstanding service and/or excellence in academic studies. It is believed this award was originated by Robert Boland, Professor Emeritus of Theatre Arts. Each spring we ask our faculty to recommend an outstanding first-year student in their program for this award. We are happy to continue this tradition and want to congratulate you on receiving this historical and meaningful recognition of your accomplishments.

Awarded to a history student in memory of Mitchell J. MulhollandLt Col. Mitchell Mulholland was a member of the BCC Family for 26 years as a Professor of History, faculty advisor and Chairman of the History Department. Professor Mulholland always joked about not being able to go anywhere without encountering a former student. He was traveling in Boston waiting for a train to do some genealogical research when he heard, "Col. Mulholland!" He stopped and a young man ran up to him and explained, "I had you as a professor for Western Civ at BCC 10 years ago!" Students always remarked that he made History alive. This award is to continue this tradition in his memory.
